MRT-2 LINE PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project which was indentified in the Metro Manila Urban Transport Integrity Study (MMUTIS) as one of the priority components of the long term master plan for transport development, involves the construction of 4-km eastern extension of Line 2 from MARIKINA RIVER PARK (SANTOLAN) Station in Marikina City to Masinag Junction in Antipolo, Rizal.
When constructed, it is believed to benefit the fast-growing communities of Marikina, Cainta and Antipolo, the latter being the fastest growing city in the entire Philippines, based on studies conducted by the NSO.
